The Final Statement
Jewellery is the perfect way to bring life to an outfit and enhance your best features. What better way to do so than to complete your look with a bold, striking and attention-grabbing piece of statement jewellery?
However, with so many beautiful pieces to choose from it can often seem a minefield - are you wearing too much or too little; how do I wear it? Below are some of the questions I am asked in my sessions so I hope these help on your quest to find the finishing touches to your outfit!
My main tip on buying accessories - pick something YOU like and above all have fun doing so!
I love high-necked styles but feel I’m too curvy and fear that wearing something like that will make me appear larger.
Wearing statement costume jewellery such as a bib-style necklace will give the illusion of a more open neckline and in turn minimise the bust area.
What about wearing a necklace with something already patterned - won’t it be too much?
Not at all. Don't be afraid to pair a bold necklace with a bold pattern. This often elevates the outfit even more even and adds the extra polish and frame to the pattern.
Necklace or Earrings - wear both?
As a rule myself I prefer to either wear statement necklace OR showstopper earrings and wear complimentary cuff/bracelet(s). The jewellery does not always need to match and in fact gives more of a considered, stylish edge to your outfit.
This quote from one of my favourite designers sums up the power of accessories, don’t be afraid to make your point:
